The Story of Human Brain Chip — Neuralink

Elon Musk is famous for founding popular companies like Tesla and SpaceX, but the tycoon also has a number of strange businesses. He said he started one of them to create a “symbiosis” between artificial intelligence and the human brain.

Elon Musk launched the neurotechnology company Neuralink in 2016. The goal of the company is to develop implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that can link computers to the human brain. The technology developed by Neuralink is intended to be used for a number of objectives, such as neurological illnesses treatment, improving human potential, and developing new modes of engagement and communication with the environment.

The Link, a small chip that is implanted in the brain and wirelessly communicates to a small computer worn behind the ear, is the company’s main product. The Link is made to capture and decode neural signals so they may be used to either provide users feedback or operate computers and other devices.

Although Neuralink is still in its earliest stages of development, the company has made significant progress recently. The Link’s functional prototype was implanted in a pig by Neuralink in 2020, and the company announced in 2021 that it has started the process of requesting FDA approval for human trials.

The technology developed by Neuralink has the potential to completely alter how we interact with technology and the outside world. Neuralink technology, for instance, might be used to help paralyzed persons regain use of their limbs or to give the blind the ability to see again. Neuralink technology may potentially be utilized to improve human capacities, such as speeding up the acquisition of new skills or enabling telepathic communication.

According to a sewing machine, the robot would operate by forcing flexible wires coming from a Neuralink chip into a person’s brain with a fixed needle.

According to Musk, the device might make implanting the electrodes for Neuralink as simple as LASIK eye surgery. Although this is a bold statement, neuroscientists told Insider in 2019 that the machine has several very intriguing characteristics.

The brain moves during surgery along with a person’s breathing and heartbeat, therefore Andrew Hires, a neurologist at the University of Southern California, emphasized an operation that would automatically adjust the needle to account for the movement of a patient’s brain.

The robot is eight feet tall as it stands right now, and Woke Studios created its design while Neuralink is working on the technology that powers it.
