වචන සියයක කතාවක් හෙවත් සියක්පද කතාවක් (Drabble) යනු ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය විද්‍යා ප්‍රබන්ධ ශානරයට මතු නොවසමස්ත සිංහල සාහිත්‍යයට ම අලුතෙන් ම එකතු වනසාහිත්‍යාංගයක් ලෙස හඳුන්වා දිය හැකි ය. එය සාම්ප්‍රදායික නවකතාවෙන් හා කෙටිකතාවෙන් මූලික වශයෙන් වෙනස් වනුයේ ‘ඩ්‍රැබලය‘ ක අඩංගු වචන සංඛ්‍යාව සියයකට සීමා වනබැවිනි. එම වචන සියයට මාතෘකාව අයත් වන්නේ නැත. සීමාසහිත වචන ගණනක් තුළ ප්‍රබන්ධයක් ගොඩනැගීම අභියෝගයකි. එම ප්‍රබන්ධය විද්‍යා ප්‍රබන්ධයක් නම් එම අභියෝගය පෙරටත් වඩා විශාලය. එම අභියෝගය භාරගත් ප්‍රවීණ සහ ආධුනික කතුවරු 60+ දෙනෙකුගේ වචන සියයේ විද්‍යා කතා සියයක් මෙහි අඩංගුය.
